BROADCAST & JOURNALISM

Original factual stories, properly reported.

The Matchstick House develops and produces factual audio, radio documentaries and narrative journalism for broadcasters, platforms and public-interest partners.

From first idea to final programme.

Matchstick can develop an idea from scratch, join at development stage or take a commission through reporting, production and delivery.

Our work spans story development, access, interviewing, field production, scripting, narrative structure and edit.

Broadcast experience.

Matchstick is led by journalist and producer Craig Langran, who spent nearly a decade at BBC World Service, including several years producing and reporting for People Fixing the World across science, technology, health, climate and global development.

His work has involved interviewing founders, researchers, scientists, senior leaders and people directly affected by the stories being told.

International reporting and production.

For stories that cross borders, Matchstick works with local producers, fixers, translators and specialist collaborators according to the needs of the commission.

Original development.

Alongside commissioned work, Matchstick is developing a small slate of original series and formats across audio, podcasts and other factual media.

We are open to conversations with commissioners, presenters, talent and production partners.

Most projects remain private while in development.
